Stage 20- Paris here we come!!!

Marcoussis-Paris Champs Elysees
Morale 10/10

To our complete disbelief, the roads of Paris did not close for our arrival! Legitimate concerns about the utter chaos in Paris, especially the multi-laned Champs Elysees prevented us from doing the exact TdF course for the final stage. We made our grand entrance anyway- decked out once again in the yellow, green, white and polka dot jerseys We rode up the cobbled Champs Elysees with enormous smiles on our faces and a bottle of champagne in the jersey pocket. Upon arrival, we momentarily felt like celebrities as we were surrounded by tourists who wanted to have their pictures taken with us. Odd yes, but we obliged feeling a bit giddy, and dare I say proud.

We took our pride to unprecedented levels with a quick change of jerseys and a photo shoot honoring our sponsors!

Dear Amy, You are my hero. What an incredible feat. I am soooo proud of you. You must be totally stoked. I have never known anyone to complete the Tour. You rock. Can't believe you did a phone interview while on the course. Stage 16 sounded excruciating. You are ready for Ironman. Just do it!!!If you are still talking to lowly,plain-Jane friends (who's biggest athletic feat of the day is running an hour), then send me an email.I may not be able to cycle with you but would love to buy you a gelato or a big bowl of pasta to celebrate.
Warm hugs,

Celia, who only did the Routeburn once unlike you who did it 3x in less than the time it took me to do it once!

Mi amiga Amy,
Felicitaciones for Le Tour De France! Amazing race for you and quite an experience! I hope that you are recovering from all of your injuries and now you are back in UK.

You are a great human being and I hope that we will be talking some day with a nice Colombian Cup of Coffee!

A big Hug from Maria Ospina
